Who is Jen Miller

I have been pondering all week what to write as my first blog.  Hmmmmm . . . Well here it goes.  My name is Jennifer Miller and I love teaching!! This is my 4th year teaching 1st grade and I can truly say I LOVE MY JOB!!  Many people say because of the schedule, I beg to differ.  I love the drive to my school, I love the students, I love the parents, I love the teachers I work with, and as well as the administrators.  Ok -- moving on.

I often wonder where is my life going.  Kurt Johnson, a flow yoga instructor on Veria says, "Let the the stress from the day fall on your mat because that is where it belongs.  You can't change the past.  Don't worry about the future because its impossible to judge what is going to happen even in the next seconds."  I truly believe that everything happens for a reason.  Even if the reasons are not readily known at that moment there is a reason why.  Which leads me back to the first paragraph.  Four years ago I was hired as a full time elementary school teacher I continued down the road of education here in Pennsylvania.  I thought I was going to move to Salmon, Idaho and teach in Idaho.  However, my cards quickly changed.  Last year my view on life drastically changed.

Some other things . . . country music for me is where it's all at!!  Now don't get me wrong I Love Rock and Roll, Little Willy, and I Love You Period.  However, Conway Twitty's Tight Fittin Jeans, to There Goes by Alan Jackson, and Ghost Riders in the Sky by Johnny Cash are all classics I listen to at least once on a weekly basis.  Tim McGraw's new song Better than I Used to Be now that song makes you think . . .

If there is one thing I think everyone should have the chance to see is a drive along Route 43 in Montana.  It's beautiful at all times during the day.  Just let me tell you the most beautiful time for me was 1:00 a.m.  The night was clear, not a cloud in Montana's Big Sky Country, pitch black, me in a rental car, driving along, no other cars for I felt 100 miles in all directions.  I stopped to stretch my legs and back.  All of a sudden I looked up . . . My breath was taken away by the beauty that was above me.  Can you guess what it was?  STARS!!  I'm not just talking the big dipper here.  I mean millions and millions of stars.  Constellations I probably cannot even pronounce were above my head that night.  Stars that wouldn't dare peek their heads out on the east coast because of light pollution.   There they were right above my head twinkling proudly.  There were so many stars that I tried to grab armful of them.  Well it was then and there I realized there is so much more in the world especially, my own country the United States of America to see that I want to visit as many places as I can in my lifetime.  For me nature's beauty is where it's at!!

On that note I am going to turn it in for the night.  The information above follows a path in which my heart was taking me tonight.  Sometimes it is a bit random, but everything mentioned I hold close to my heart.  I think I got the hang of this thing called blogging.  I am so excited I figured it out and I am excited to see if anyone reads my very first post.  One more thing I never understood commas, other than using them when listing more than three things.

Just remember, "You never know what you can do until you actually have to do it!"

Sincerely,

Jen
